Although focused similarly as PMG Billing, the consulting entity has conducted training services to over 20,000 physician and mid-level providers in 36 states. In addition, the company has completed more than 20,000 Medical Record Review / Chart Audits since inception. PMG Consulting offers the following service options:
I. Evaluation & Management Coding Update
Updated annually since 1998 as payor regulations are modified and codes deleted/added, this training session can run from 4 to
8 hours dependent on timeline and client objectives. The program starts with the basics (2 of 3 & 3 of 3 rule, time,
key component documentation) progresses to common modifier usage, used and finishes with common coding examples/issues.
PMG consulting has conducted this session in 36 states, training over thousands and thousands of providers and billing/coding staff.
II. Medical Record Review/Chart Audit PMG will review visits/encounters and code the Evaluation & Management (E&M) services based on the documentation in the record for the respective dates of service. Findings will be presented to the client in spreadsheet format with detail on code and level determinations, weaknesses and strengths described in a SWOT Analysis. A cover letter will also provide general findings and an overview of recommendations. This project often serves as a foundation for coding training with physicians already understanding their strengths and weaknesses Core Competency PMG will assess the entity’s coding and reimbursement procedures and provide a written summary of findings and recommendations. This assessment is completed primarily on-site at client offices with summary completion at PMG. PMG Consultants have completed billing and reimbursement assessments from New England to California.
